2001
Episcopal authority shifts with passing of crosier
In a simple, relatively short
transaction, the gilded crosier signifying episcopal authority passed from
Bishop Frederick H. Borsch to Bishop J. Jon Bruno, as witnessed by more than
1,000 people attending the final day of the 106th Annual Meeting of the
Convention of the Church in the Diocese of Los Angeles.

Correction of election results:
In the current issue of The Episcopal News, the incorrect sequence was
reported for the election results for clergy and lay alternate deputies for
General Convention in 2003. The elections were held in conjunction with the
recent Annual Meeting of Diocesan Convention, Nov. 30-Dec. 1 in Riverside.
The correct order for clergy is: William McCord Thigpen, first alternate; Ed
Bacon, second; Joanna Satorius, third; and Lisa Golden.
The order of lay alternates is: Jan Jones, first alternate; Lewis Bonney,
second; Lynn Moyer, third; and Mary Mizer.
The News regrets the error.

Election Results
When it came to elections, it was
business-as-usual at the Diocesan Convention’s 2001 Annual Meeting. A number
of diocesan positions were filled as a result of voting over the two days
(Nov. 30, Dec. 1) and a team of delegates and alternates was selected to
represent the diocese at the 2003 General Convention in Minneapolis.
